Consistent waste management and green space development have enhanced the aesthetic appeal of the expanding territories, ensuring a healthier and more modernized living standard. The physical mapping of the territory allows for better zoning and prevents unregulated urban sprawl.

Professor Chike Edozien Secretariat Under Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa's stewardship as Governor of Delta State, the Prof. Chike Edozien Secretariat was built and commissioned as a state-of-the-art administrative complex located along Mariam Babangida Way in the Central Area of Asaba.

Commissioned in November 2021, the architectural masterpiece spans an expansive 45,000 square metres. It serves as the primary operational hub for the Delta State civil service, consolidating 27 government ministries under one roof to eliminate rental costs and optimize administrative efficiency.

The mega-structure was named in honor of the late His Royal Majesty Professor Chike Edozien, the revered Asagba of Asaba and Nigeria's oldest professor of medicine, celebrating his immense contributions to academia and regional peace.

Designed around five interconnected courtyards to facilitate natural airflow and light, it accommodates 27 distinct state ministries and departments. Round-the-clock power supply is provided by the Asaba Independent Power Plant.

Reputed to be the most modern complex of its class in Nigeria, the Secretariat features nine fully equipped conference halls and multiple seminar rooms and offers an expansive parking that accommodates up to 2,000 vehicles.

Staff Welfare: Includes an on-site 26-bed medical clinic, a childcare crèche, a banking hall, and three cafeterias.

Asaba under Oborevwori Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration has executed numerous major infrastructure, urban renewal, and public utility projects in Asaba to improve connectivity, manage flooding, and upgrade the state capital. Key projects in the Asaba Capital Territory include the construction of a six-lane dual carriageway and access roads to open up the waterfront for commercial investment.

In addition, construction and inauguration of the multi-billion naira Oko-Amakom–Oko-Obiokpu–Oko-Anala and Oko-Ogbele roads (Phases 1 & 2) in the Oshimili South Local Government Area to provide vital rural-urban linkage has been undertaken.

In the area of Urban Internal Roads, more than 29 connecting roads with dual drains have been completed, including the Ugbolu-Onwuka Road, Ogbotobor Avenue, the Okpanam-Ibusa Road, and roads within the Olikili Layout. Major flood control projects traversing Summit Road, Nwelih Street, St. Patrick's College, and the Amilimocha Stream to mitigate flooding have been completed.

Governor Oborevwori's administration completed and inaugurated the ultra-modern High Court Building Complex in Asaba and embarked on the construction and commissioning of eight new four-bedroom duplexes to expand official residential facilities for senior government officials.

As part of the concert's programme to enhance the aesthetic beauty of Asaba, the governor has installed modern streetlights, developed landscaped gardens, and urban green spaces to upgrade the capital city.

Overall, Ibru provided the visionary planning and initial masterplan, while Ibori delivered more visible infrastructure and institutional consolidation in the return to democracy.

Subsequent governors (e.g., Uduaghan, Okowa and Oborevwori) built on these foundations with further roads, hospitals, stadium, the airport, and secretariat upgrades. Asaba has grown rapidly since the 1990s, expanding into a major urban center.
